Situs Megalitikum Gunung Padang: Perspektif untuk Studi Arkeo-musikologi, Arkeo-Geografi, & Arkeo-Astronomi
Some parts of the largest megalithic site in Southeast Asia at Gunung Padang, Cianjur, West Java, Indonesia are observed. We report some conjectures on the elements of archaeo-astronomy, archaeo-geography, and archaeo-musicology for further studies on the ancient settlement of West Java responsible for the megalithic architectural structure. The presentation is
This presentation is a report from an expedition to megalithic site in Gunung Padang, Cianjur District, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. The functionalities of the site at the time it was built is still being questions and in ongoing archaeological research. Yet, the site kept a very rich architectural insights in it.
Music, or in narrower sense, melodic contours of the aesthetically arranged pitches and the respective durations attracts our cognition since the beginning and now shaping the way we think in the complex life of culture. From evolutionary school of thoughts we could learn our perspective of seeing the musical diversity
From the works of mathematical properties of songs, we construct the phylomemetic trees of Indonesian ethnic and traditional songs. The memeplexes are then reflected by the used notes and respective durations as they exhibit the Zipf-Mandelbrot law, the gyration coefficient, “spiraling effects”, and the dynamic entropy shown in the structure
The paper proposes a way to see melodic features in music/songs in the terms of “letters” constituting “words”, while in return investigating the fulfillment of Zipf‐Mandelbrot Law in them. Some interesting findings are reported including some possible conjectures for classification of melodic and musical artifacts considering several aspects of culture.
The archipelagic geography and demography of Indonesian people due to the way people serve food and drinks on the table is analyzed. Statistically some properties about the food recipes are observed, while the analysis is followed by the methodology to see the clustering of the food and beverage due to
There are many royal states ever been established in this region, spread across the Nusantara archipelago from northern Sumatra to inland Papua, since its early history. However, beside of their various sizes, Indonesian ancient royals having various model of governmental system which is featured in its bureaucratic structure. As the
The carved and painted decorations in traditional Batak houses and buildings, gorga, are the source of their exoticism. There are no identical patterns of the ornaments within Batak houses and the drawings are closely related to the way ancient Batak capture the dynamicity of the growing “tree of life”, one
The paper conjectures some alternative acquisitions of mathematical models to see the Batak family tree that could enrich our understanding of the anthropological study of Bataknese people. We discuss some aspects of Bataknese Clan‐group in Batak traditional social life. Since the family tree is drawn according to the genealogical patterns
